is it possible for meditation to change your genes?

Interestingly, scientists have confirmed that this is TRUE …
The concept is that when you meditate you can change the way you breathe, the focus of your mind, the level of stress in your body and you can subsequently change the bio-chemistry of your body.
Well-Being Magazine has referred to an interesting study which concluded that ‘… just eight hours of meditation is enough to alter your genetic expression in such a way that inflammation is reduced and your response to stress is enhanced.’
One of the leading teachers of meditation, Dr. Deepak Chopra says that: ‘… our body is the best pharmacy in the world and is capable of making wonder drugs.’ and ‘… one can naturally prevail over serious life challenges by becoming more attuned to one’s body.’
Dr. Masuru Emoto notes that water can be significantly affected by sound, energy and vibration. The human body is made up of 70% water. He notes that the cells in our body react to energy and that continuous exposure to negative energy (eg. stress) can result in sick and diseased cells. But positive energy (eg. meditation) can change the cells’ structure in a healthy way. So he also asserts that we can alter our DNA.
There is something to meditate on.
